Cottagers’ Corner is a powerful symbol of African American legacy, cultural pride, and community service. As the only building on Martha’s Vineyard ever owned by an African American women’s volunteer organization, it has been a gathering place for decades of activism, artistry, and fellowship.

Today, visitors to the newly restored Cottagers’ Corner are greeted by more than a beautiful entrance. The engraved names of individuals, families, businesses, and organizations honor those whose generosity and commitment have helped preserve this historic gathering place for generations to come.

The Legacy Brick Walkway is both a tribute and an investment in the future.
