Join us for the most fashionable afternoon of the summer in Oak Bluffs. The Cottager's Annual Fashion Show fundraiser is a fun filled afternoon including lunch, great music and a parade of fashions adorned by the Cottagers and their Vineyard friends. All proceeds benefit Martha's Vineyard community organizations. Don't miss it!
The Cottager's Inc. will be hosting their first Black Doll Show at Cottager's Corner on August 10 and 11 in honor of Richard Henry Boyd (1843-1922) who built the first Black doll factory for manufacturing Black dolls with appropriate and beautiful facial features. Through these dolls Mr. Boyd taught Black children a lesson in "race pride and race development which would not result in race suicide." He fought to eradicate the hideous, stereotypical caricatures that existed during his time and continue to be depicted as a representation of African American people. The master artists in this show are continuing his legacy.
August 10 & 11 from 10am - 5pm
Come dance the night away in support of Island charities. Live DJ and light refreshments served.
Tickets are $25 in advance/$35 at the door
